Come Un Giglio in un Campo
Video Description
Etty Hillesum is a young woman in the midst of a personal crisis. She lives in Amsterdam in 1941 and is Jewish. She begins a diary as a form of personal therapy, but soon the history of Europe in the Second World War forces its way into her life, and, precisely because of this condition, Etty undergoes her human and spiritual maturation, leading her to understand her role in the world: to be a chronicler of her time.
The diary, started as therapy in 1941, thus becomes a report on the Westerbork labor camp in 1943, up until Etty’s deportation to Auschwitz and her death.
